There is no responsible universal “best” from this table

The table can establish the shape of the purchase. It cannot establish that one tutor's feedback is more useful, that a particular employer prefers one course or that a buyer will earn more afterwards.

A useful choice begins with a non-negotiable requirement. When a receiver specifies a named award, broad claims about another product's level are not enough. When assessed teaching is required, the specification needs to describe that teaching—not merely contain the word “practice.”

Three distinctions that change the decision

Core award versus extras

A course can include specialist add-ons and webinars without turning those into a single larger regulated qualification. Keep the title of the final award separate from the advertised bundle hours.

This prevents a comparison that treats 300 promotional hours as automatically greater qualification value than a more tightly specified award with fewer hours. See hours versus level.

Simulation versus observed teaching

A branching classroom scenario can help someone think through a decision. It is not, by itself, evidence that the trainee has taught actual language learners under observation.

Peer microteaching, observing another teacher and teaching a real class are also distinct. Our practice guide makes those categories explicit. Do not downgrade online delivery automatically: remote teaching can still be observed and assessed.

Access versus personal support

An access period describes when you can use the platform. It does not state how many personal feedback opportunities are included, how quickly assignments return or how much clarification you can obtain.

Compare those outputs separately. A long access period may matter to a shift worker; a fixed live timetable may matter more to someone who needs structure. Neither preference produces a universal quality verdict.

Choose by scenario

You need a specifically named qualification: start with the authorised or validated route for that award. Do not rely on a seller's “equivalent” label without the receiver's agreement.

You need flexible introductory training: compare exact self-paced products, tutor access and the assessment you will complete. Confirm the receiving organisation accepts the resulting award for your intended role.

You already hold a qualification but lack documented practice: investigate whether a separate observed-practice route is appropriate. Confirm its prerequisites and acceptance; do not buy another full course automatically.

You want academic credit: a recommendation or pathway is not a promise that your own institution will grant credit. Obtain that institution's policy before assigning monetary value to a credit claim.

Build the all-in cost

Include the tuition quote, mandatory assessment or moderation charges, certificate delivery where charged, necessary practice arrangements and any required travel. Put optional additions in a separate column. Do not count a theoretical extension as inevitable, but do check its price when your schedule makes one plausible.

The total-cost guide includes an original budget example. Its arithmetic is a decision aid, not an estimate of your personal probability of completion.

Why this comparison contains “unknown”

An unexposed price is not zero. An unspecified practice component is not proof that no practice exists. A provider's accreditation claim is not a substitute for a matched record. Keeping those distinctions visible is preferable to awarding stars from incomplete public information.
