Human and AI IELTS feedback solve different problems. Compare the explanation, revision support, privacy terms and price before choosing either one.
We have not run a controlled accuracy experiment comparing the products in this guide. There is no fabricated accuracy percentage, rank or claim that one technology always outperforms every alternative.
Start with the task, not the polish
IELTS writing assessment includes answering the task, organizing ideas, vocabulary and grammar. BC2 A rewrite that improves sentence fluency but changes the argument or ignores part of the question does not resolve the entire writing problem.
Here is an original, simplified example. A prompt asks for a comparison of two learning methods. A response discusses only one method. Feedback that changes “very good” to “highly effective” may improve a phrase, but it leaves the missing comparison untouched.
That is a reasoning problem you can detect without believing a particular predicted band.
Five tests for any feedback
Does it quote or identify the relevant passage? A generic diagnosis that could apply to every essay gives you little information about this attempt.
Does it explain the consequence? A criticism should say how the passage affects meaning, relevance, support or organization—not merely that an alternative sounds more advanced.
Does it preserve the facts and your intended position? Be cautious when a rewrite adds statistics, examples presented as real, or a stronger opinion you never argued.
Can you perform the suggested revision yourself? A model answer can illustrate a repair, but you need an explanation that transfers to a different topic.
Does it separate an estimate from a certification? A service can provide practice feedback without being entitled to issue an official examination result.
Use automation for bounded questions
A productive request might be: “Identify sentences where the pronoun reference is ambiguous. Explain each ambiguity without rewriting the essay.” Another is: “List each part of the prompt and show where my draft addresses it. Say when a part is missing.”
These are requests for inspectable analysis. They are not claims that any particular tool will answer correctly. Read the original passage and decide whether the criticism is supported.
A less useful request is simply “Make this band 9.” It encourages a replacement answer while leaving you unsure what was wrong or whether you could produce the new language under examination conditions.
Use human support for a defined question too
A human tutor can be asked to prioritize problems, explain disagreement between comments or watch you attempt a revision. But the service still needs a clear scope. “Expert feedback” without a sample, method or opportunity to understand it is not automatically a good purchase.
Our service comparison describes public offers. It does not independently authenticate every qualification claim or compare the accuracy of their estimated scores.
A revision protocol that keeps the evidence visible
Save the prompt and your untouched first attempt. Collect feedback without overwriting that version. Sort comments into task response, organization and language. For every accepted change, write one sentence explaining why you made it.
Then write a different response without copying the repaired text. Compare the new attempt against your short list of recurring problems. Where you disagree with feedback, preserve the disagreement and seek a specific explanation rather than averaging two incompatible band estimates.
A change in practice score alone cannot tell you whether improvement came from your independent writing, changed instructions, a different task or a different evaluator. Keep the conditions recorded.
Do not expose unnecessary personal information
Use original practice text or material you have permission to share. Do not submit identity documents, certificate numbers or confidential workplace material to obtain essay feedback. Read the tool's actual retention and account terms; this guide does not promise that any third-party service deletes your text.
